Energy-saving Reform for Middle to Small Refinary

Many devices are used in oil refinery. Energy consumption of these devices is quite different. By technology transformation on these devices, UNE helps clients to save energy consumption.


1. Crude distillation unit(atmospheric and vacuum distillation unit)


Because of its large process volume, crude distillation unit consumes considerable energy. Its energy consumption is composed of heating, cooling, heat radiation, evacuation and power. Methods of consumption saving include:


1.1 Enhance remaining heat recovery

1.2 Select high performance heat exchanger

1.3 Reduce power consumption

1.4 Optimize operation


2. Fluid catalytic cracking device


Fluid catalytic cracking(FCC) device is the key and major energy consumption equipment. FCC is charactered with large volume of excessive high level energy because of scorch. Its energy consumption is composed of coke, flue gas recycle, steam, low temperature heat loss, heat loss and heat exchange. Methods of consumption saving include:


2.1 Reduce coke productivity

2.2 Improve remaining heat recovery, including

(1) Improve work efficiency of the main fan and gas turbine;

(2) Reduce the temperature of exhaust gas of remaining heat boiler, reduce evacuation loss;

(3) Reduce heat loss of regenerative flue gas pipeline;

(4) Optimize heat balance of regenerator.

3. Hydrocracker


Hydrocracker consumes about 10% of total energy consumption in oil refinery. Its energy consumption is composed of fuel (40%~60%), power(30%~40%), steam(5%~10%). Methods of consumption saving include:


3.1 Use high performance hydrocracking catalyzer;

3.2 Control temperature rise of reactor;

3.3 Maintain resonable hydrogen to oil ratio;

3.4 Improve heat efficiency of heating furnace;

3.5 Avoid excessive pressure drop;

3.6 Use scale inhibitor to alleviate coking tendency of hydrogenation heat exchanger.
