Skid LPG Equipment
LPG (liquefied petroleum gas) is mixture of propane and butane, usually accompanied by a small amount of propylene and maleic. LPG is colorless and volatile gas. It is normally stored in tank container in liquid at appropriate pressure.
There are two major LPG sources, i.e. by-product of field associated gas processing and oil refining processing. The former accounted for about 60% of the total output of the world LPG, and the later 40%.
Due to strict environmental protection requirements also in order to maximize the economic benefits, oil companies attach great importance to oilfield associated gas processing and LPG recovery technology research and application.
LPG is mainly used in automobile, civil gas, non-ferrous metal smelting and metal cutting. It is also very good petrochemical raw materials for production of downstream C3 and C4.
As oilfield associate gas is separated directly from crude oil, it is mixture of many components. Its main ingredient is methane, as well as significant amounts of ethane and carbon hydrocarbon. Without preprocessing, it will be difficult to be transported.
First, due to changes of temperature and pressure in pipeline, natural gas that contains heavy hydrocarbon (commonly known as wet gas) will precipitate, which may increase friction and capacity consumption, or even completely block pipeline, impacting safe and economic transport.
Second, the heat value of heavy constitute in wet gas is different, and the difference is even greater comparing with that of methane, so it does not meet the design requirements of the burner when used as fuel, and will cause burner to work abnormally or even completely can not be used properly. If it is directly combusted, there is black smoke above flame, bring more serious environmental pollution.
Therefore, oilfield associated gas needs preprocess to recover LPG and mixed light hydrocarbon C5 +, and remaining dry gas which is mainly methane is transported through pipeline. Oilfield associated gas process and LPG recovery involves a series of technology. Its goal is to improve separation efficiency and recovery yield, and reduce energy consumption.
UNE owns complete LPG recycling technology and equipment. In order to facilitate transportation and field installation and maintenance, we designed skid LPG device, which meets customized demand of crude oil production site and refinery.
