Desulfurization & Deacidification Using Amine Solvent

Methyldiethanolamine is widely used in gas purification. Its characteristic is that it can remove sulfur even when C/S of the raw gas is very high, while retaining a considerable amount of carbon in the purified gas. Its chemical stability is good, and solvent is not easy to degenerate. Also, its property of preventing solution from foaming and corrosion resistance are better than those of MEA and DEA.


Advantages of organic amine desulfurization are:

1. Desulfurization efficiency is greater than 99%;
2. Process, system operation and maintenance is simple and reliable;
3. Small corrosion. The system runs in weak acid gas and liquid environment and has almost no corrosion;
4. No second time pollution. Absorption liquid has high thermal stability and chemical stability;
5. Absorption liquid is high selective for sour gas absorption, and is not easy to foam.
